Welcome to season eight of the EYBLL Blood Bowl Sevens league! With a new edition and a new set of Sevens rules we’ve gone back to basics meaning if you’re new to the game now is a perfect time to get involved!

The EYBBL stands for the East Yorkshire Blood Bowl League - a collective of coaches that participate in Blood Bowl leagues and events here at Mighty Lancer Games.

What you’ll need

  • A blood bowl team
  • A copy of the blood bowl rulebook
  • A set of blood bowl block dice, a d6 and a d8
  • Spike issue 22

League Rules

Over the course of the season you’ll play a number of games of Blood Bowl sevens against different coaches (the amount depends on the number of coaches taking part). You’ll have three weeks to organise and play each game with your opponent.

The pairings will be hosted here on the MLG website and you can organise games via the EYBBL Facebook group/chat. As this is an MLG League all games must be played at the store.

Our dedicated gaming floor is open anytime the store is open, and also late on Thursdays and Fridays from 6:30pm

The league will start on Thursday September 17th and run until its completion.

We’ll be using the rules as they are found in Spike 22 with one slight change to try and make it more balanced for lower tiered teams (detailed below).

House Rule - "Somewhat Seasoned Pro’s"

During your roster creation each team will be allocated skill points as if it is a matched play game (see the matched play rules in spike 22). These extra skills are “baked in” so do not increase your team value and do not count towards the number of skills when doing the draft. If a player with baked in skills dies or is drafted you can use those points again if you rehire the same positional to replace them. If you fire them you lose the points.

Points and Playoffs

Coaches are ranked according to the number of League Points they have. Tiebreakers are as followed:

  • Bonus Points > TD Difference > TD’s > Casualties

Coaches will earn 3 Points for a win, 1 Point for a draw,  0 Points for a loss, and the following bonus points (used as first tiebreaker):

  • Scoring 3 or more touchdowns – 1 Bonus Point

  • Conceding 0 touchdowns – 1 Bonus Point

  • Inflicting 3 or more Casualties (all casualties count regardless of the source, if its in your Dead and Injured box your opponent scores it!) – 1 Bonus Point

At the end of the regular season, the top players will progress to the playoffs, where the league turns into a series of knockout games until we have a final champion!
