About the MT-LB:

Developed in the 1960s at the Kharkiv Tractor Plant, the MT-LB is a multi-purpose, lightweight tracked transporter designed to operate in even the most challenging environments. Weighing around 12 tons, it features fully amphibious capability, using its tracks for propulsion in water at speeds of up to 5 km/h. Powered by a diesel engine, the vehicle can reach 60–70 km/h on land with an operational range of about 500 km. 

The MT-LB carries a crew of two and up to eleven passengers, protected by armour up to 14 mm thick. Its versatility made it invaluable to Soviet and Warsaw Pact forces, serving as a troop carrier, artillery tractor, and platform for a wide range of specialized variants, from command vehicles to anti-aircraft systems. The MT-LB’s reliability and adaptability have ensured its continued service across the world.
