Tamiya Walking & Swimming Penguin

The Tamiya Walking & Swimming Penguin is an amphibious mechanical assembly kit that recreates the distinctive movement of a penguin both on land and in water.

A link mechanism converts the rotation of the pre-assembled Submarine Motor Mini into movement of the legs and flippers. On the ground, the penguin moves forward on three wheels while swinging its body. In water, the flippers propel the model forwards, with a neck float helping the head stay above the water.

The direction of the wheels and flippers can be changed to turn the penguin on land or in water. The plastic parts can also be painted, giving you the option to customise your finished model.
