The Tamiya Mazda Savanna RX-7 1:24 scale model kit is a highly detailed static display model that captures one of Japan’s most iconic sports cars from the late 1970s and early 1980s. This updated re-issue brings back Tamiya’s classic RX-7 kit with modern improvements including refreshed decals, revised mould colours, updated instructions, new packaging, and the addition of masking stickers for a cleaner paint finish.

First introduced in 1978, the Mazda Savanna RX-7 became legendary for its lightweight construction, sleek wedge-shaped design, and innovative two-rotor rotary engine producing 130 horsepower. The front-midship engine layout delivered excellent weight distribution and sharp handling, helping the RX-7 gain a devoted global following and cement its place in Mazda’s motorsport and road-car history. This kit represents the refined early RX-7 era, including details inspired by the luxurious SE Limited variant.

Tamiya’s model faithfully reproduces the aerodynamic body lines, low nose, and retractable headlights. The kit features realistic detailing throughout, including a fully detailed chassis underside, suspension components, and a well-appointed interior. Both the sunroof and pop-up headlights can be posed open or closed, adding display flexibility and realism.

Solid synthetic rubber tyres provide an authentic stance, while updated decals accurately recreate original badges and emblems. A seated driver figure is included, making the finished model ideal for display on its own or as part of a classic Japanese car collection.
