Tamiya – Grumman F-14D Tomcat Model Kit (1:72 Scale)

The first Tamiya-designed Tomcat in the 1/72 War Bird Series, this superb plastic model kit delivers a streamlined assembly experience without compromising on detail. The F-14 enjoyed active service from the early 1970s until its retirement from U.S. Navy service in 2006.

Initially conceived as a fleet defence interceptor, the Tomcat’s exceptional range later saw it adapted for strike missions during the 1990s. With the addition of the LANTIRN targeting pod, it gained the ability to perform long-range precision bombing using laser-guided ordnance.

The F-14D was the final production variant, featuring powerful General Electric F110-GE-400 engines and significantly upgraded avionics. Entering service in 1992, it saw operational deployment over Iraq and Afghanistan before its retirement in 2006.
