First introduced in the early 1960s, this versatile workhorse served both the Soviet military and civilian sectors for decades. The first prototypes appeared in 1962, and full-scale production at the Moscow ZIL plant ran from 1963 to 1994 — with more than 3.3 million units produced.

Powered by a robust 8-cylinder, V-shaped carburetor engine producing 150 horsepower, the ZIL-130 was renowned for its reliability and endurance. Later upgrades increased the truck’s payload capacity to 6 tonnes and extended its chassis lifespan to an impressive 300,000 km. Its distinctive design — including the bold grille and triple cab lights added in 1980 — made it instantly recognizable on roads and job sites across the USSR.
