Soviet Light Tank T-26 1932 Model Kit
Soviet Light Tank T-26 1932 Model Kit
This 1:35 scale plastic model kit from Zvezda faithfully recreates the Soviet T-26 light tank, Model 1932 – one of the most widely produced and historically significant tanks of the interwar and early World War II periods. Designed with 226 detailed components and measuring approximately 122mm in length, this model captures the distinct twin-turret profile and riveted hull of the early T-26 variant.
About the T-26 Light Tank:
Developed in the early 1930s and based on the British Vickers 6-Ton design, the T-26 became the backbone of Soviet armoured forces throughout the decade. Entering service in 1931–1932, the tank went through numerous modifications and special-purpose versions, with over 12,000 vehicles produced before and during the Second World War.
Weighing up to 8.2 tons, the T-26 was powered by a 12-cylinder GAZ carburettor engine producing around 90 horsepower. Its armament typically consisted of a 45mm wz.1932 or wz.1934 gun, supported by one to three DT 7.62mm machine guns. Although lightly armoured, the T-26 saw extensive combat during the Spanish Civil War, the Winter War with Finland, and the early Eastern Front campaigns of World War II.
