Bolt Action: Sd.Kfz 250 (Alte) Half-Track – 1/56th Scale WW2 German Armoured Vehicle

The Bolt Action Sd.Kfz 250 (Alte) Half-Track is a 1/56th scale plastic model kit that lets you build one of three historical German half-track variants: the Sd.Kfz 250/1, Sd.Kfz 250/3, or Sd.Kfz 250/10. Used throughout World War II by Germany and Romania, this versatile armoured vehicle was an essential transport and reconnaissance tool for the Wehrmacht.

Developed as a shortened version of the famous Sd.Kfz 251 Hanomag, the Sd.Kfz 250 series was used by scout, HQ, and command units across all fronts. The “Alte” (old) version represented the early production model, featuring a distinctive angular hull that remained in service even after the newer “Neu” design was introduced in 1943.

Each variant offered a specialised battlefield role:

• Sd.Kfz 250/1: Standard reconnaissance and transport half-track armed with twin MG34s.

• Sd.Kfz 250/3: Command variant equipped with a radio frame aerial — famously used by Field Marshal Erwin Rommel in his command vehicle, Greif (“Griffon”).

• Sd.Kfz 250/10: Platoon command vehicle fitted with a 3.7cm PaK 35/36 anti-tank gun instead of the forward MG34.

This detailed model kit also includes crew figures with interchangeable heads in both regular and winter uniforms, plus a special figure representing Erwin Rommel himself.
