Wargames Atlantic Late Roman Legionaries (2): Lorica Squamata is part of the Decline and Fall Imperial Rome at War 284-476 AD range, providing up to 24 multipart hard plastic 28mm legionaries in scale armour for historical wargaming.

The set represents the soldiers of the later Roman Empire, a period when the legions underwent major changes following the reforms of Diocletian and Constantine. These troops fought across the Roman world, from Britannia and North Africa to Mesopotamia, as well as in the many civil wars and conflicts that shaped the late Empire.

The miniatures can be equipped with spatha, spears and plumbata, while two types of standards and full command options allow you to create a complete and characterful Roman unit. Three helmet options are provided, including Niedebieber, ridge and Spangenhelm styles, alongside the iconic Late Roman ridge helmet. Two crest options and additional heads provide further opportunities for customising command figures.

The versatility of the set extends beyond Late Roman armies. These figures can also be used as armoured warriors for Dark Age forces including Goths, Burgundians, Saxons, Franks and Romano-British armies. The Decline and Fall range is designed to mix and match between sets, allowing you to create varied forces and styles.

For a mixed look within a Late Roman legion, this set can be combined with Wargames Atlantic WAALR001 Late Roman Legionaries (1): Lorica Hamata. WAALR004 Dark Ages Army Builder can also be used when creating unarmoured Roman forces.

The models require assembly and painting. Bases are not included. Sculpting is by Rob Macfarlane and the painted examples are by Stephan Huber.
