Drawing on lessons learned from the Chi-Nu medium tank, which featured improved armour (up to 50mm frontal protection), enhanced mobility, and the powerful Type 3 75mm tank gun, designers began experimenting with Rift technology integration.

The result: the Type 97-Kai Shiboru, mounting the devastating Type 99 Shiboru cannon. Combining established chassis design with unstable but immensely destructive Rift weaponry, this variant offers Japanese commanders a formidable anti-armour and anti-infantry option on the Konflikt ’47 tabletop.
