The Soviet Union’s first heavy infantry armour proved reliable on the battlefield, but the need for greater mobility and specialised weapons quickly became apparent. Attempts to retrofit the original suits for enhanced anti-infantry roles saw limited success, prompting the development of a completely new design incorporating lessons learned from worldwide Rift-tech advancements.

The resulting MK II Armoured Infantry benefit from improved power-assisted movement and ongoing engineering efforts to expand their dedicated weapon options. Production remains slow, so these upgraded suits are currently issued only to the elite Guards units—those best able to exploit their enhanced battlefield performance.
