Kings of War Xirkaali Yan Regiment

While the mighty hemicyons dominate the battlefield with strength and ferocity, the human population of the Xirkaali Empire—known as the Yan—forms the vast majority of the empire’s people. Originating from the central provinces, the Yan outnumber the hemicyons many times over and provide the essential backbone of the empire’s armies, handling logistics, transport, and supply for the advancing hordes.

Despite these responsibilities, the Yan are far from mere support troops. Many serve directly in the army, forming disciplined infantry blocks that secure the flanks of the Xirkaali battle line. In times of war, these soldiers stand firm against enemy advances while elite warrior monks and specialist fighters lend their unique martial traditions to the fight.

Among the most distinctive Yan warriors are those trained in the use of chakrams—razor-sharp discs crafted from fire-hardened bamboo. These unusual weapons can be hurled with surprising range and precision, and in close combat they serve as both blade and shield in the hands of skilled fighters. Alongside them march disciplined ranks of the Brotherhood of Yan and dedicated Warrior Monks, creating a versatile and adaptable infantry force within the Xirkaali army.
