Italeri Macchi MC.202 Folgore - 1:48 Scale Model Kit

Build a detailed 1:48 scale model of the Macchi MC.202 Folgore, one of the most significant Italian fighter aircraft of the Second World War.

The MC.202 Folgore represented a major step forward for the Regia Aeronautica, combining an aerodynamic airframe with the powerful German DB 601 inline engine produced under licence by the Italian aircraft industry. Compared with earlier Italian fighters powered by radial engines, such as the Fiat G.50 and Macchi MC.200, the MC.202 offered considerably improved speed and flight performance.

Fast and manoeuvrable, the Folgore could reach approximately 600 km/h and was capable of engaging Allied fighters effectively. Early versions were armed with two 12.7 mm Breda-SAFAT machine guns mounted in the nose, while later versions received additional armament to improve their effectiveness in aerial combat.

This Italeri plastic model kit features 100% new moulds and includes a super decal sheet, 3D decals and a photo-etched fret. The kit was developed under licence from Aeronautica Militare and builds into a finished model approximately 18.4cm in length.

Supplied unpainted and requiring assembly.
