Italeri Dornier Do 217 J1 J2 Nachtjäger - 1:72 Scale Model Kit

Build a detailed 1:72 scale model of the Dornier Do 217 J1/J2 Nachtjäger, the night fighter version of the versatile German Dornier Do 217 bomber.

The twin-engine Do 217 was widely used by the German Luftwaffe during the Second World War and was adapted for a variety of roles including bombing, attacks against surface targets and night interception. The J1/J2 Nachtjäger was specifically developed to intercept Allied bombers during night operations.

The aircraft was equipped with Lichtenstein radar to help identify targets in darkness, while its heavily armed forward nose section housed 20 mm cannons and 7.92 mm machine guns. Although Luftwaffe pilots considered the Nachtjäger less manoeuvrable than some other night fighters, it was regarded as a reliable and robust aircraft.

The Do 217 J1/J2 could reach a maximum speed of approximately 500 km/h.

This Italeri plastic model kit includes a super decal sheet with markings for five versions, including aircraft of the Luftwaffe and Regia Aeronautica. The completed model measures approximately 24.5cm in length.

Supplied unpainted and requiring assembly.
