ICM Luftwaffe Pilot School | 1:32 Scale Model Kit
ICM Luftwaffe Pilot School | 1:32 Scale Model Kit
The ICM Luftwaffe Pilot School model kit recreates a detailed World War II training scene featuring the Henschel Hs 123A biplane and three Luftwaffe cadets. This 1:32 scale plastic model kit offers scale model builders an opportunity to depict pilot training during the early years of the German Luftwaffe.
Future Luftwaffe pilots began their flight training at specialised flying schools known as A and B Schools. Cadets typically accumulated between 100 and 150 hours of flight training. Initial flights were conducted with an instructor before cadets progressed to solo practice that focused on take offs, landings and aerial manoeuvres. Throughout this process instructors closely observed each cadet to determine whether they would later specialise as fighter, bomber or reconnaissance pilots.
Training flights were usually carried out using light training aircraft, but many flying schools also operated both older and more modern combat aircraft. Among these was the Henschel Hs 123A biplane. Production of the aircraft began in September 1936 and although originally designed as a close air support aircraft, it also served extensively with training units.
The Hs 123 was equipped with two synchronised machine guns and could carry bombs with a total weight of up to 450 kilograms for ground attack missions. Despite its relatively simple biplane design, the aircraft proved extremely reliable and capable, allowing it to remain in Luftwaffe service for much of the Second World War.
This model kit includes a detailed Hs 123A aircraft along with three Luftwaffe cadet figures featuring accurately sculpted uniform details. The kit also features an accurately proportioned airframe based on the real aircraft along with a detailed cockpit and fuselage structure. These elements make it well suited for aircraft modellers who enjoy creating historical aviation displays or diorama scenes.
The kit contains 226 plastic parts and three figures, offering an engaging build for hobbyists interested in World War II aircraft modelling.
Models require assembly and painting. Glue and paints are not included.
Recommended for ages 14 and over.
