ICM Last Marauder WWII Bomber - 1:48 Scale Model Kit

This 1:48 scale kit represents the final production B-26G Marauder, serial number 44-68254, famously named Tail End Charlie. The aircraft rolled off the Martin production line at Middle River, Baltimore, in April 1945, just as the Second World War in Europe was coming to an end.

Tail End Charlie made its first flight on 18 April 1945, flown by test pilot Pat Tibbs with Martin chief designer Ken Abel as co-pilot. Abel had also been involved in the first flight of the original production B-26 five years earlier, creating a remarkable connection between the beginning and end of the Marauder production story.

The aircraft never saw combat. Following Germany's surrender, it was transferred to the French Air Force on 10 May 1945 and subsequently used by the CEAM Test Centre at Mont-de-Marsan for technical evaluation and transport duties. It remained in French service until being written off in April 1949.

The kit faithfully reproduces the late-production B-26G configuration, including the aircraft's distinctive features and detailed cockpit and fuselage interior.
