ICM HP.52 Hampden B.Mk.I WWII British Bomber Model Kit 1:48 Scale – RAF Bomber Command Aircraft
The ICM HP.52 Hampden B.Mk.I 1:48 scale model kit recreates one of the most distinctive British bombers of the early Second World War. Developed to replace obsolete biplane bombers, the Handley Page Hampden entered RAF service just before the outbreak of WWII and became a key component of Bomber Command during the opening years of the conflict. Its slim fuselage, high speed for the era, and substantial bomb load earned it the nickname “The Flying Suitcase”.
This highly detailed plastic model kit represents ICM’s first release of the HP.52 Hampden and features accurate geometry and proportions based on extensive research. Fine rivet detail is reproduced across the fuselage, wings, and tail surfaces, enhancing realism at 1:48 scale. The cockpit is fully detailed with accurately modelled interior equipment, making it ideal for display with clear parts installed.
The bomb bay and under-wing stations can be fitted with a variety of historically accurate bomb types, allowing the aircraft to be built in early-war bombing or experimental torpedo development configurations. Decals are included for four authentic RAF aircraft, ranging from the first production Hampden through early wartime squadron service and specialised test units.
With 350 parts, this unassembled and unpainted kit offers a rewarding build for intermediate to advanced aircraft modellers and is perfect for RAF, Bomber Command, and WWII aviation collections. Glue and paints are required and not included. Recommended for ages 14 and over.
