ICM Bristol Beaufort Mk.IA & RAF Pilots Scale Model
ICM Bristol Beaufort Mk.IA & RAF Pilots Scale Model
1/48 scale Bristol Beaufort Mk.IA model kit, complete with RAF pilot figures. A versatile and historically significant aircraft, the Bristol Beaufort was a key component of the Royal Air Force’s torpedo-bomber force during the early years of World War II.
Entering service in late 1939, the Beaufort took on a wide variety of combat roles:
Torpedo attacks against enemy convoys
Bombing coastal installations
Laying naval mines in enemy waters
Nighttime and daytime maritime strike missions
This Mk.IA variant features a revised machine-gun turret and was fitted with ASV radar systems to help locate enemy ships, making it one of the most advanced torpedo bombers of its time. The aircraft saw extensive action in the Mediterranean, where it faced intense opposition and suffered heavy losses — yet its crews continued to carry out daring and often successful missions against Axis warships and transport convoys.
