Cobi Marder III Ausf.M
Build history piece by piece with the Cobi Marder III Ausf.M from the Historical collection of World War II. This detailed brick building kit (kit number 2282) is designed at a scale of 1:35, with the completed model measuring approximately 15cm in length and 10cm in height. The set includes 367 building blocks and one figurine, making it suitable for ages 8 and up.
The Marder III tank destroyer was a formidable anti-tank weapon during World War II, particularly before the introduction of the 88mm guns. The design of the Sd.Kfz. 138 Marder III Ausf. M is based on the chassis of the Panzer 38(t) Ausf. M, featuring a centrally located engine. Armed with a German 75mm cannon and a supply of 27 rounds, this vehicle was a significant asset on the battlefield. While it did not have a permanently installed machine gun, the MG 34 or MG 42 could be carried in the crew compartment as optional personal armament. Notably, the "M" version lacked armour covering the crew compartment from above, with only a closure at the rear.
Between 1943 and 1944, approximately 975 units of this Marder III variant were produced, officially named Sd.Kfz.138, Panzerjäger 38(t) mit 7.5cm PaK40/3 Ausf. M. This model is developed in a 1:35 scale to match figures and features the latest elements from the Cobi catalogue, allowing for a faithful reproduction of the original vehicle's characteristic shapes.
The model includes functional features such as working caterpillar traction, rotating wheels, a designated space for a figure in the fighting compartment, a movable cannon, and a machine gun mounted on a rail. All graphic elements are high-quality prints, and the set includes a figure of a German tank destroyer commander in a characteristic uniform, along with a plate featuring the set's name.
The Cobi Marder III Ausf.M is fully compatible with other brands of construction blocks, such as Lego, and comes with clear, intuitive instructions based on illustrations and step-by-step directions, making it an engaging and educational building experience.
