This kit allows you to build either the Type 63 APC or its export variant, the YW531C, offering flexibility for historical wargaming, dioramas, and scale modelling. Supplied unpainted and requiring assembly, this kit is suitable for ages 14 and over.

The Type 63 was developed after the People’s Liberation Army evaluated Soviet PT-76 amphibious light tanks in the 1950s. Designed by the Military Engineering Institute and the No. 60 Research Institute, the vehicle underwent extensive testing for river, lake, and sea crossing operations before entering service in 1963. The Type 63 became a cornerstone of Chinese armoured forces and was exported widely during the Cold War.

This Rubicon Models kit features detailed ABS plastic components, with options to stow or raise the front hull trim board, and build all hatches in open or closed positions. An optional Type 54 12.7mm heavy machine gun can be added, and the kit includes a Chinese gunner and driver to complete the model.
