The KV-1 Heavy Tank

Weighing in at 45 tonnes, the KV-1 was among the first of the Soviet Union’s true heavy tanks. Its thick armour rendered it nearly impervious to most German anti-tank weapons early in the war, and its 76.2mm cannon could destroy any contemporary German vehicle. Though its bulk limited manoeuvrability, its sheer presence on the battlefield was often enough to sow panic among enemy lines. 

The KV-2 Self-Propelled Artillery Gun

Developed alongside the KV-1, the KV-2 was designed to support Soviet infantry by obliterating fortified positions. Its towering 12-foot silhouette and 152mm howitzer made it a devastating bunker-buster, capable of levelling defences and suppressing entire enemy positions. Despite its size and limited speed, the KV-2 earned a fearsome reputation as one of the most imposing vehicles of the Eastern Front.
