Begin a Gurkha force for Bolt Action with the Ayo Gorkhali! Gurkha Starter Army. Representing Gurkha troops serving with the British Indian Army during the Second World War, this comprehensive starter army provides a flexible force designed for battles against Japanese troops in the Far East.

Recruited from the mountainous regions of Nepal, Gurkha soldiers became renowned for their toughness, determination and skill in close combat. Armed with their distinctive Kukri knives as well as rifles and other weapons, they earned a formidable reputation throughout the Second World War.

The starter army includes 42 multipose hard plastic Gurkha infantry, providing a wide range of options for creating infantry squads and weapons teams. Supporting the infantry are Medium Machine Gun and Medium Mortar teams, a 6-pounder anti-tank gun and crew, along with a platoon commander.

The force also includes both an M3 Medium Tank and an M5 Light Tank, making this a versatile starting point for a mid to late Second World War British force.

Rules for creating a dedicated Gurkha army can be found in the Indian Army section of Armies of the British Commonwealth. The Ayo Gorkhali special rule allows you to create a force that specialises in aggressive close-range fighting.

This starter army provides a strong foundation for a Gurkha collection and can be expanded with additional Bolt Action units to suit your preferred playstyle.
