The Westland Puma HC.1 entered service with No.33 Squadron of the Royal Air Force in 1971, fulfilling a critical medium support helicopter role. Capable of transporting 16 passengers, 12 fully equipped troops, or up to two tonnes of cargo, either internally or via underslung loads, the Puma remains a mainstay of the RAF more than five decades later.
