Snotlings, Smashes & Springtime Shenanigans – The EYBBL Spring Cup

There are some events that just feel right from the moment the doors open and the EYBBL Spring Cup Blood Bowl 7’s tournament was exactly that putting a smile on everyone's face even when the dice didn't roll in their favour.

On Sunday 22nd March 2026, eight brave (or perhaps slightly unhinged) coaches gathered here at Mighty Lancer Games in Bridlington, East Yorkshire for a day dedicated entirely to one of the most chaotic, unpredictable, and downright hilarious teams in Blood Bowl… Snotlings.

And what a day it turned out to be.

The Madness Begins – Pump ‘N Race

From the moment registration opened at 9:30am, the gaming floor was alive with hobby chatter. Before the main event kicked off, we started the day with the traditional EYBBL Pump Wagon Race. Bringing pure chaos and fun to the table to set the mood for the day.

Eight coaches lined up their ramshackle creations and sent them hurtling (and often crashing) down the track. With each dice roll seeing the victor edge ever closer to scoring big...well, not scoring at all but it does give the winner an advantage in the main tournament with a single reroll that can be strategically used at any point in the main games, if the winner remembers of course.

Cori claimed victory, earning a well-deserved miniature trophy and the reroll. In true Mr MLGs luck that reroll was used on him later.

With the warm-up complete, it was time for the main event: three rounds of Snotling Sevens, each packed with ridiculous plays, improbable touchdowns, and more than a few brutal blocks.

Fully painted teams hit the tables, each one full of character, creativity, and just the right amount of mischief. We saw classic Snotling builds, clever conversions, and even some brilliantly themed alternatives standing in for the little green troublemakers.

Across the day we saw:

  • 30 Touchdowns scored
  • 90 Casualties inflicted

Yes… ninety.

Snotlings may be small, but they certainly don’t go quietly.

Every game brought its own stories, last-second scoring runs, outrageous dice luck, and players being launched, squished, or spectacularly removed from the pitch. Exactly how Blood Bowl should be.

There’s something special about events like this. It’s not just about winning games it’s about shared laughs, spectacular dice rolls (both good and disastrous), and that sense of community that makes tabletop gaming what it is and why we really really love BloodBowl.

Hobby Pride on Display

Lunchtime gave everyone a chance to catch their breath, grab some food, and take part in Best Painted voting.

The effort, creativity, and personality poured into these teams was incredible and always awesome to see. From vibrant colour schemes to clever conversions, it was a proper celebration of the hobby side of the game something we always love to see here in the shop and of course I may be a little biased as Mr MLG won best painted team with his Nurgling proxies which gave him a real boost and a great big smile.

The Results Are In

The numbers don't lie and with 8 smiling coaches, 90 casualties inflicted and 30 touchdowns scored those numbers are mighty impressive. Do you remember that re roll won in the Pump Wagon race? well it was used against Mr MLG and I am not saying that is why he came last and earned himself the wooden spoon but just remember I have my eye on you Cori

But where did everyone else come, it is a tournament after all. A huge well done to everyone including Al who won Mr MLGs favourite achievement of being voted Most Sporting🎉

The winner of the day was Lilly who came in first place and also bagged himself Most Touchdowns and Most Casualties inflicted along the way.

Why These Days Matter

Events like the EYBBL Spring Cup are what Mighty Lancer Games is all about, the whole reason Mr MLG wanted to open a game shop all those years ago was to provide a place for people to come together and enjoy the games they love. It’s about creating a space where people can come together, roll some dice, share a few laughs, and enjoy the hobby with like-minded people and even make new friends along the way.

Whether you’re a seasoned coach or someone just starting out, days like this remind us why we opened the shop in the first place.

What’s Next?

If you missed out this time, don’t worry…

The EYBBL Summer Cup is already on the horizon.

Thank You

A huge thank you to everyone who came along, brought teams, rolled dice, and made the day what it was. These events only work because of the community around them and we couldn’t ask for a better one.

We’ll see you at the next one… and maybe next time, the Snotlings will behave.

(…but probably not.)
