Horus Heresy Battle Group PPOs Are Live

Loyalist or Traitor? This Christmas, the Horus Heresy is bringing reinforcements! Games Workshop has revealed two new Warhammer: The Horus Heresy Battle Group boxed sets, and whether your loyalties lie with the Emperor or the Warmaster, there's a whole lot of power armour heading your way. These festive Battle Groups offer two very different ways to build or expand your Legiones Astartes collection. The Vanguard Assault Battle Group brings speed, mobility and aggressive battlefield tactics, while the Heavy Assault Battle Group favours heavier armour, determined infantry and getting up close and personal with the enemy. As with the other festive boxed sets, these are limited releases, so if one of them catches your eye, you'll want to give yourself the best possible chance of securing a copy. We're opening a Priority Pre-Order (PPO) List to help our customers do just that. With only two Battle Groups to choose from, our form is nice and simple: select the box you'd most like, then let us know if you'd also be interested in the other one. Here's a closer look at what's on offer! Legiones Astartes: Vanguard Assault Battle Group For commanders who believe the best way to win a battle is to get stuck in before the enemy knows what's happening, the Vanguard Assault Battle Group is ready to lead the charge. Built around a strong core of Mark VI Tactical Legionaries, this force combines mobile infantry, close-combat specialists and armoured support. A Deimos Pattern Rhino helps get your Legionaries where they're needed, while a Predator Battle Tank and Contemptor Dreadnought bring some serious firepower to the battlefield. 20 Mark VI Tactical Squad Legionaries 10 Mark VI Assault Squad Legionaries 1 Legion Praetor with Power Sword 1 Contemptor Dreadnought 1 Deimos Pattern Rhino 1 Deimos Pattern Predator Battle Tank It's a versatile force with plenty of options for taking objectives, supporting your advancing troops and bringing the fight directly to the enemy. Whether you're starting a new Legiones Astartes army or reinforcing an existing collection, this Battle Group has plenty going for it. Legiones Astartes: Heavy Assault Battle Group Prefer your Space Marines clad in heavier armour and advancing relentlessly through incoming fire? The Heavy Assault Battle Group might be more your style. This force is built around the formidable Mark III Tactical Legionaries, backed up by Breacher squads, Cataphractii Terminators and a highly customisable Legion Command Squad. A Land Raider provides the armoured transport needed to get your elite troops into the thick of the fighting, where they can bring their considerable close-combat capabilities to bear. 20 Mark III Tactical Squad Legionaries 10 Mark III Breacher Squad Legionaries 5 Mark III Legion Command Squad Legionaries 6 Cataphractii Terminators with Volkite Chargers and Power Mauls 1 Land Raider Explorator/Carrier With its combination of heavily armoured infantry, elite Terminators and a Land Raider, this Battle Group is well suited to commanders who prefer a more methodical advance and the ability to dominate the fighting at close quarters. The Legion Command Squad also offers plenty of scope for customisation, with a variety of ranged and melee loadouts. Which side will you choose? Whether you're planning a rapid assault with the Vanguard force or an armoured advance with the Heavy Assault force, we're opening a Priority Pre-Order List to help you get your preferred Battle Group. And because these are the only two options in this particular release, we've kept the form straightforward. First choice – required: Choose which Battle Group you'd most like to secure: Vanguard Assault or Heavy Assault. Interested in both? – optional: Let us know whether you'd also be interested in purchasing the other Battle Group if we're able to secure both for you. Select Yes or No. Selecting Yes doesn't guarantee that we'll be able to supply both boxes, but it lets us know you're happy to purchase one of each if our allocation allows. If you'd only like one Battle Group, simply select your preferred option and choose No for the second question. How does our Priority Pre-Order system work? Our PPO lists give customers the opportunity to register their interest ahead of the official Games Workshop pre-order. This helps us gauge demand and allocate our stock as fairly as possible once Games Workshop confirms how many copies we'll receive. Enter your email address using the form above. You'll receive an email asking you to confirm your interest. You must click the confirmation link to be added to the PPO list. We don't yet know the official pre-order date, our prices, Games Workshop's RRP or how many copies of each Battle Group we'll be allocated. We cannot take orders or reveal pricing before the official pre-order window opens. Once Games Workshop confirms our allocation, we'll work through the confirmed registrations and allocate stock as fairly as possible, taking your preferences into account. We'll email you on the Friday before pre-orders open to let you know whether we've secured your requested Battle Group or Battle Groups. If we've secured an allocation for you, we'll send your invoice at or shortly after 10:00am on the official pre-order Saturday. You'll have a fair period to pay your invoice. We typically allow 3–5 days, and we're happy to hold an order longer if you need a little extra time. Just let us know so we know what's happening. For most Games Workshop pre-orders, our allocation is sufficient to cover everyone who has registered their interest. However, these are limited releases, and demand can sometimes exceed the stock we're allocated. We can't guarantee that everyone will receive their first choice or that we'll have enough stock to fulfil every request for both boxes. We work hard to make the process as fair and straightforward as possible. Registering your interest in advance also helps us understand demand, allowing us to plan our order with Games Workshop more effectively. Please remember: joining the PPO is a registration of interest, not an order or a guarantee of stock. We cannot accept orders or reveal prices before the official Games Workshop pre-order window opens. This mailing list is exclusively for the 2026 Warhammer: The Horus Heresy Battle Group releases. Your details will be used to manage your registration, communicate your allocation and, where applicable, send your order invoice. Joining this PPO will not subscribe you to our general marketing emails unless you're already signed up to our main mailing list. If you're ready to reinforce your Legiones Astartes, choose your preferred Battle Group above and let us know if you'd be interested in both. We'll do our best to help you secure the reinforcements you're after! While you wait for pre-orders to open, you can browse our full range of Warhammer: The Horus Heresy products at Mighty Lancer Games. For the Emperor... or for the Warmaster. We'll leave that part up to you.
