Hobbyboss 1/350 - USS Alaska CB-1
The USS Alaska is the first of the U.S. Navy Alaska-class battle cruiser ships. At a speed of 15 knots, her range is 12,000 nautical miles. After her completion, the Alaska mainly went along with Mitchell's fleet of aircraft carriers as the cruiser squadron flagship, and provided protection for the aircraft carriers.
After Japan's surrender, the U.S.S. Alaska joined the seventh fleet; she was retired from active duty on Feb. 17, 1947, and was sold for scrap in 1961.
