The F-14 Tomcat is a powerful multirole aircraft used by the U.S. Navy, representing one of the most effective weapon systems in the Western air forces. This aerodynamically-advanced interceptor maintains an impressive performance envelope and is known for its agility. Of particular intrigue was the 1990 F-14 Vandy One of the Navy's VX-4 Pt. Mugu (California) test unit, which was painted entirely black. This model kit includes an accurately-shaped model, textured surfaces with recessed sheet metal joints, a highly-detailed cockpit, movable swing wings, and the option to display the landing gear either retracted or extended. Additionally, it includes Phoenix and Sidewinder guided missiles, as well as decals for the special paint scheme Vandy One of the VX-4 and a US Navy version.
