Macchi C.200 Serie XXI-XXIII - Italeri 1:48 Scale Model

No Reviews
£34.99

Developed by renowned engineer Mario Castoldi, the Macchi MC 200 was a significant advancement in Italian fighter aircraft production. In contrast to the biplane fighters such as the Fiat CR 32 and Fiat CR 42 that were commonly used by the Italian squadrons during the beginning of World War II, the Macchi MC 200 stood out with its monoplane design and all-metal frame. Its 14-cylinder radial engine, the Fiat A.74 RC 38, produced 840 HP and allowed the Macchi MC 200 to reach speeds of 500 Km/H. However, when compared to Allied fighters, it was considered underpowered and had a lower rate of fire. The Macchi MC 200 was armed with two 12.7mm Breda-SAFAT machine guns mounted on the characteristic bulged engine nacelle, with two additional 7.7mm Breda-SAFAT wing-mounted machine guns added in later versions.
